New Training Program from the School Nutrition Foundation

Learn, Educate, Advance and Develop, with training from the School Nutrition Foundation! Their new LEAD to Succeed™ professional development tools were created in partnership with the Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business for both virtual and in-person use, and are available at no cost to all school nutrition professionals. Register now for the first of four modules: “LEARN to Master Difficult Conversations” and begin earning CEUs!


Save the Date for the ISBE School Wellness Conference!

The Illinois State Board of Education will present its second annual School Wellness Conference on April 14 and 15. This year’s conference will be presented virtually by the ISBE Nutrition, Wellness, and Student Care​ departments. The conference will feature live webinars, recorded trainings and exhibitor resources.

School nutrition professionals, physical education teachers, school nurses, school social workers and others dedicated to the well-being of Illinois schoolchildren are encouraged to utilize these free resources. Watch for registration and more information coming soon.

Free School Meals Extended Through SY 2020-21

USDA announced the extension of all SFSP and SSO waivers through the end of SY 2020/21. SNA applauded USDA and Congress for their work to address challenges faced by school nutrition professionals, working to feed hungry children during the pandemic.

Nominate a Deserving Colleague! 
The SNA awards program is a great opportunity to highlight the outstanding and important work of SNA members and state affiliates! Members and state associations are eligible for many awards and honors that recognize their achievements in school foodservice, leadership, membership recruitment and professional development.

SNA is still actively accepting online nominations for the Employee of the Year, Manager of the Year and Director of the Year categories. The deadline is March 1, 2021.
