We celebrated "Lunch Bunch" Schneider
Elementary in Farmer City, one of the elementary schools in the Blue
Ridge District #18.
Congressman Tim Johnson's aide attended along with the District
Superintendent, the DeWitt County Economic Development Committee,
our City Administrator and the Mayor of one of the town's in our
District. We discussed the variety of fruits & vegetables offered on
our menu & the need for continued funding to keep them there!
With the exception of the purchased noodles for our chicken &
noodles the menu was made with all commodity & DOD foods. I also
sent Congressman Johnson's aide back with a copy of the responses
from the ILSNA Board on the "Farm to School" bill.
